Trivium Films is a New York City-based full-service production company, working in the commercial, film, TV, and digital realms. Founded by two directors who are veterans of the production world, Trivium creates compelling content for world-class brands and clients of all sizes and needs.
Trivium Films’ produced the public television series Dream of Italy, which is airing nationwide in the summer of 2015.
Dakkan Abbe, partner
Producer/Director Dakkan Abbe has been involved in every aspect of video production since he started his career in 2002.
Dakkan’s professional journey started on the soil of Bordeaux during a backpacking trip through Europe when he was 20 years old. After tasting wine in the medieval village of St. Emilion, he decided he would spend the night sleeping in a vineyard on the outskirts of the town. It was romantic, free, and very uncomfortable.
His first stop after college was Wine and Spirits Magazine where he had a five year career as a writer and editor based in San Francisco.
In 2004 he created, produced and directed the PBS series Inside the Tuscan Hills. Called “visually stunning” by Variety, the series was seen by over three million viewers and was distributed internationally.
In 2015, he co-created and co-produced the public television series Dream of Italy. The show has been seen by over five million viewers and is currently in its third season.
In 2013 he produced the video Luanda-Kinshasa which was directed by the celebrated artist Stan Douglas and in 2019 screened at The Whitney Museum of American Art.
Dakkan has also directed and produced produced series for A&E, ABC, The History Channel, MTV, The Food Network, HGTV, The Travel Channel, and ID.
